| Doug Scancarella has been writing professionally for almost 20 years. Most of that time was spent at the New York Times, where he served as a sports and general assignment reporter. His articles covered sports, business, travel and entertainment. As the Internal Communications Manager at Toys R Us and Babies R Us, he was Editor of the company's associate newsletter, R Family. The publication has a circulation of 50,000 and is distributed nationally to the company's 900-plus stores. Doug's R Family articles featured associate profiles and milestones, corporate events, updates on health benefits and features on new products and new stores.
As a member of the Corporate Communications team, he was also
responsible for leading media relations initiatives.
Doug is also a sports author. His novel,
Gridirion Grit, was published in 2006. He also manages
WayneSports.com, a website that covers high school sports in
and around his hometown of Wayne, NJ. Doug earned an
undergraduate degree in Communications for Villanova University
and and MBA from Fordham University.
